This blog is of my dearest friends!!! Colleen, an intelligent, vivacious and compassionate woman and Bill, an easy-going, thoughtful, and witty man GOT MARRIED - you just couldn’t imagine how excited I was to get to document their day! It was going to be a full day, full of photo opportunities and plenty of large belly laughs. Bill has this way of making Colleen laugh, and she laughs with all her genuine heart with a belly laugh - that means Bill is hilarious and Colleen loves to laugh.
The day started at The Adelphi Hotel in Saratoga Springs, where Colleen was getting the finishing touches on her hair and lipstick, even before I get in the door, I can hear her laugh - it was going to be a good day! When Colleen got in her dress, she was GLOWING, Her mother and sister helped her with her accessories and she couldn’t have looked any lovelier, she was ready for her day! We were going to do the First look right on the balcony - with no where to hide, she had to hide in the BATHROOM (Lol…), at least it wasn’t for a long time!
Bill arrived and we got him set up, he was a little nervous but he was more excited than he was nervous. We put him in place right by the edge, in case things went wrong and we had to shove him over (just kidding!). Colleen meekly approached and the look on both their faces was instant happiness and joy I KID YOU NOT, I CAUGHT IT. And then the unexpected happened, BILL CRIED. I’ve never seen this man cry before and I almost wanted to start crying with him - and Colleen nervously laughed because she was not expecting it either! At first she thought he was Ham-ing it up, but he was so overwhlemed with emotion - Its just natural.
We went around the Adelphi Hotel for beautiful photos, Did some photos at SPAC, and made our way to the National Dance Museum of Saratoga for the last set of photos and for Ceremony. It was lit in the most GORGEOUS way, where the light spills in from where the procession would be going towards. When Colleen walked in with her dad, it was as if time stood still. The Ceremony was beautiful, and it was time for the party to start! Throughout the day, we laughed so much and so hard, it was a good day!
