2017 Weddings | A Look Back | Jay Zhang Photography
This past year has been the biggest year yet! Every year it gets better and better, and the thing that never changes is that my Clients are awesome and THE BEST. I've had the pleasure of traveling to so many different locations and meeting so many new and wonderful people and families. Here's a brief overview of all the weddings this year, I can't wait for what 2018 Brings
Revolution Hall Troy NY | Karla + Brian's Wedding
I have to say that I cried a lot for their wedding, mainly because these two sweet, emotionally strong and kind-hearted people who work in bettering others and being considerate to others were having THEIR day taken care of and I felt very honored to have been a part of it. They could only be championed by the love that their family and friends and those who's lives they have affected showed them that day. I cried a little as they both held back tears when they saw each other at their first look, I cried a little as they said their vows and held hands on the alter, I cried a little as they did their first dance, and I cried a little when it was all over. It was a wonderful way to end my Wedding Season.
Altamont Manor | Alisha and Carl's Wedding
Alisha and Carl found me and knew that I was going to be the perfect match for their day. Little did I know, that they were the perfect match for me! These two were ready for their day, dressing to the nines and excited to see each other for the first time. There were tears, there were laughs, and there was lots of love.
Oakwood Cemetary Chapel | Kim and Rick's Wedding
Kim first found me at a Bridal News Wedding Show, she was diving deep into the wedding planning and like most people planning their wedding, it was the first time and there was a lot of information to take in. When Kim and Rick met me out for a quick chat, I fell in love with the idea of their wedding day. It was going to be super small and intimate, It was going to encompass elements that they adored, and it was going to be a wedding geared towards their personalities. There were so many little things that tells you their story, can you name all the little details that they worked so hard to put together? There is just so many to name!
The Old Barn - Redrick Farms Wedding | Grace and Tim
Grace and Tim are two of the most amazing people I know. Granted, I didn't REALLY know them before our initial consultation meeting but since that day, I've only been dreaming of their wedding day. I've also been WAITING to capture these two the way I see them - In love, non-judgemental, tenacious loyalty, and willingness to make each other happy. Also, now that my job here is done, I can't wait to visit them in Philly!! <3 See you two soon Loviess!
Century House Wedding | Michelle + Gina's Wedding
Michelle and Gina Tied the knot! It was a crazy day filled with a lot of love, a lot of family, and a LOT of friends. There was even a special guest appearance! You'll just have to scroll through to see... ;-) This has been a long time coming for them, and with everything being just the right timing and things working out for the better, it was a day to remember, and like every couple tells me, it felt like it didn't even happen because of how fast it all went by. That is what Photographers are here for. Let me just jog your memory.
Springside Inn Auburn NY | Kristen and Rick's Wedding
I was honored to be a part of a good friend of mine's big day. Two teachers, organized just like teachers because when I got to both their getting ready locations they were both ready and took all my advice. I mean besides the fact that I was loving that they listened to my advice, they both were so excited to see each other down the aisle that everything else melted away as soon as those doors opened. It was quite the day, filled with lots of excitement, lots of silly faces, lots of beautiful people, and TONS of shenanigans. My favorite!
Longfellows Resturant | Alice and Sal's Wedding
Its a long time coming for Alice and Sal to tie the knot and join these two families together! These two sweet, smart, and super hardworking people who couldn't help but laugh and smile throughout the whole day, especially right during the first look. There was nothing that was going to make their day better other than officially tying the knot. It was a perfect day.
Stable Gate Winery Wedding | Anusheh and Paul
Anusheh and Paul have this energy about them that radiates when they are together. You could tell they enjoy each other's company, but more importantly to them, they enjoy listening to each other and their input. Their energy only amplifies when Paul's daughter Maya comes into the picture, and you know that family is the most important part of their being. Their love for each other can only be championed by the love they both share for Maya, and they care for their family's well being.
Buckley Farms | Lisa and Roxana
This sweet Brooklyn Based couple wanted to have their small intimate wedding up in the capital region, specifically at the Buckley Farms! I love this spot, its filled with so much wholesomeness and ease. Things could not have been more perfect for a low key, light hearted, and exciting day filled with lots of loved ones and lots of heart felt tears. I say this a lot but I felt so honored to have been a part of this intimate day.
The Venue in Cohoes NY | Erica and Ben's Wedding
These two are fun, light hearted, adventure filled, easy going, and ready to seize and party through their day. Even during formals, they just wanted to get out there and dance and party and just have fun for the day. They look out for each other and they always have each other's backs. BTW did I ever tell you how FANTASTIC they both looked? nailing it at every turn. Chills all day.
Stablegate Winery Wedding | Steph + Todd's Wedding 2017
I have been waiting to blog this wedding because it was such a good day. I essentially have been blessed with such amazing Couples so I obviously say that a lot, but these two though, have been so awesome all day. Nailed everything, had a ton of fun, someone got "Iced" - some ya'll know what that means, people cried, people laughed, there were fireworks. FIREWORKS. I made gifs, lots of them. Enough from me, check these out!
Apple Greens Golf Course | Anna and Kirstie's Wedding
I feel like I can't say enough about how these two feel about each other, there's this calming effect they must have when they are together because even when things aren't going perfectly, once they are together, none of it seems to matter - and it shows in their faces, and in the way they hold each other, make each other laugh, and even when they poke fun because its no longer too serious, it becomes light hearted. Love means when you look at the other, you are finding peace and balance, you are finding someone who you admire and pushes you to be better, and you find yourself prioritizing them over yourself sometimes. I felt so truly lucky to have shot their wedding.
Honors Haven Ellenville NY | Mat + Mike
Mat and Mike have already "officially" gotten married but still wanted to have their celebration with all of their loved ones, friends and family and everyone under the rainbow. Honors Haven was the perfect place for them to do it, as the day was gorgeous and their photos essentially captured the care they have for each other, the sillyness and relaxed nature of their relationship, and the teamwork and communication that was displayed through their efforts in making this day the perfect day. #MatMike17
Troy Kitchen + Riverfront Park Troy Wedding | Nikki + Reilly
Nikki and Reilly are so made for each other, Nikki is the type of woman who's always super enthusiastic and you can tell when her wheels are churning and she comes up with a plan in less than a minute. Reilly is the Cool, chill we're going to make it work type of person who would roll with however things are going. Nikki fires Reilly up, and Reilly settles Nikki down. On this day though, there was nothing that was going to keep the high of the feeling of finally celebrating the day with all their friends. They have been "Officially" Married for some long now, it was a day that they now get to share with their loved ones.
X20 Xaviers on Hudson Yonkers NY | Alex and David's Wedding
"Today, tomorrow, yesterday, and last week,
Forever and always it's your heart that I seek."
Albany Country Club | Tina + Tyler's Wedding
I don't think there could've been any better way to describe Tina and Tyler's Love for each-other except through their blizzard message: "If kisses were snowflakes, I'd send you a blizzard". I can surely confirm, that it definitely snowed. Despite everyone's best efforts, it wasn't going according to plan, but it didn't diminish the importance, and the memories Tina got to share with her little girl. Sophia is probably THE most important thing to Tina and Tyler, and being able to share their day with their little girl, was something that they would never change for the world. Who cares about traditional paths, when your little girl gets to be just as excited about your day as you are.
Schenectady City Hall Elopement | Sarah + Russell's Elopement
Sarah and Russell originally were both grew up here on the east coast, but their studies and careers took them both to the west coast. Over the course of time, they met on the west coast and moved back together to the east coast where I was honored to do their elopement in Schenectady City Hall. It was a rainy day, but it was a perfect day. I was even honored as being a witness! The amount of feels that I got probably couldn't be quantified enough by words. Just take a gander!
