This week’s blog has been about couples who save each other, and when we talk about couples who save each other, I think of these two love birds who long ago decided to save each other. These two quirky, smart, compassionate and AMAZING people are gaming nerds that are always going to be saving each other in and out of the digital space. There’s a calmness to Alex and an excited Bubblyness’ to Alyssa that when you put these two together in a room, they radiate like magnetic waves in the upper atmosphere. You can tell they are always constantly thinking about the other’s well being, happiness and quirks while also giving each other the space and agency to grow and make their own decisions.
We started the day at the Albany Country Club in Snowy February, on a Leap day that happens once every four years, if that doesn’t tell you that this day was meant to be I do not know what else to tell you. it was nice and cozy inside and when I got to see Alyssa, She was feeling Serene and level, she was letting the day flow while everyone helped her with everything she needed today. Everybody was so excited for her and excited to be a part of the day, but they also wanted to give Alyssa the best possible day she could have, especially her Mom! You can tell that her and her mom share the same heart when it comes to people they love, and you can tell her and her dad have the same big wide smile when they look at someone they love.
When her Maid of Honor (MoH) and her mom were helping with the dress, you can help but see that her mom was excited for her, and she wanted to be a part of the day but also, wanted to just squeeze her tightly and never let go - so I told her to come around and just look at Alyssa and hold her hand while her MoH finished the back of her dress.
CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS KICK ASS DRESS THOUGH?!? Everyone, photographers and couples and friends I’ve told about this dress LOOVVVVEEED this dress and UGH I’m STILL gushing over this dress, and when Alyssa was fully in the dress, I couldn’t help be feel like this dress was MADE for HER, no one else because she fit perfectly in it. The detail work and lines and directionally of this dress, was just amazing.
Alex was as chill as ever, a little bit nervous and of course, first thing he asked was how Alyssa was doing, just like how Alyssa would ask me later ask how Alex was doing (see what I mean?). We had a couple of shenanigans with the boys and his mom helpped pin on his and his father’s boutineer and even Alyssa’s Mom joined us to help Pin the boutineer on Alyssa’s Dad. Then it was OFF to the ceremony!
The Ceremony was intimate, sweet, and full of tears as these two nerdy gamers exchanged the most gamer vows I’ve heard EVER (Dear Gamer couples, please reach out to me more!). They did not do a first look so when Alex was standing there, knowing that Alyssa was going to come out, you could see the excitement in his face. The photos below doesn’t do ENOUGH justice to the amount of smiling he was doing inside and outside because he had not seen this dress on her yet and it was awe-sinpiring to see how much they both radiated like Polaris and eclipse when they intertwine (Gifted TV Show, IFYKYK).
This radiance continued while we took Couple’s portraits outside, and although there wasn’t a lot of snow, we had beautiful Winter Sun light, and maybe a little photoshop magic! We even got to have a private dancing moment with these two in their reception room which was MAGIC. The rest of the day was nothing short of amazing.
